200 full steps = 360° · approximately 5 seconds at 40 full steps/sec.

Quarter stepping is unavailable: this board cannot set intermediate winding currents. Half stepping alternates one and two energized coils and can produce more heat than single-coil full stepping.

Step counts are commanded, not encoder measurements. Initial coil alignment may shift the shaft. Left/right depends on wiring and viewing side. Coils release when stopped.
